I carried out this research project as it was one of the challenges and concerns I experienced during my teaching practice period at Morama Community Junior Secondary School in Jwaneng. I carried out this research to find out the causes of teenage pregnancy and problems teenagers face concerning unwanted pregnancies among female students in Morama Community Junior Secondary School. Maximum of five students dropped out of school as a result of teenage pregnancy. Strategies should be made to help students avoid being the victims of teenage pregnancy. Things that contribute to teenage pregnancy can be poverty in a family, and lack of guidance in the family, since parents play an important role in their childrens life, they should maintain stable relationship with their children. BACKGROUND OF THE RESEARCH PROBLEMThe number of teenagers giving birth each year is rapidly climbing. Teenage pregnancy is a serious issue that may seriously impact the future of a young woman. A female can become pregnant from sexual intercourse after she has begun to ovulate, which can be before her first menstrual period but usually occurs after the onset of her periods (Lisa, 2009). Teenage pregnancy may be due to alcohol and drug abuse. United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA) has revealed that every day 20 000 girls under the age of 18 give birth. In Botswana, although the numbers are not that high, there is growing concerning regarding the increasing rate of teenage and adolescent pregnancies, leading to school dropouts.Kabelo Poloko, Programs Director at Botswana Family Welfare Association (BOFWA), says the biggest factor to teenage and unwanted pregnancies is a lack of use of family planning methods. Although it provides several services, the key mandate for BOFWA is still to make it easier for young people (ages 10-35) to gain access to various family planning methods (Gothataone Moeng Mmegi Newspaper, 29 November 2013).Member of Parliament for Francistown East, Mr. Buti Billy noted that students should be exposed to psycho-social developmental issues, including teenage pregnancy in club activities such as Peer Assisted Counselling by Teens, teenage mothers as well as the Girls and Boys in Education movement (BOPA, 23 March 2017). Teenagers face daily pressure from peers, they are expose to influence of TV movies, the m usic industry and internet, and unfortunately young ones are too inexperienced to handle the consequences of pregnancy. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEMThis research purpose is to find solutions to the causes of teenage pregnancy among female students and its effect on their academic work. Students should be taught sex education both in schools and at home. Most parents fail to understand their children and do not have a close relationship with their children as a result, find it difficult to confide matters to their parents. Parents should have a stable relationship with their children, they should talk about sex with that children rather than not disclosing it to their children. Unsupervised internet use may expose teenagers to pornographic and sex chart room, some teenagers are willing to accept sex if they are paid and some adult encourage teenage sex by deliberately taking advantages of their being poor. The idea of romanticism is based upon individuality, self-expression, sincerity, spontaneity, and originality. Realism deals with the concrete, physical, and the here and now. Many people and places in the movie represent one of the two ideas. The first instance of this is where the school is located. Romanticism is seen in the vast area of nature surrounding the school. While the school made with its stone and concrete represents realism. Once inside the school all ideas of individuality and self-expression are vanquished, until Mr. Keating arrives. In contrast with the rest of the staff Mr. Keating brings romanticism inside the concrete realist walls. Before Mr. Keating arrives, all of the students strictly followed their parents orders and never truly thought for themselves. However, after experiencing Mr. Keatings classes some students and others begin to change from realists to romanticists. For instance, the Dead Poets Society had been trapped in realists walls but the students bring the romantic club back to life. Where the society meetings took place was outside the concrete school and amidst the beautiful nature around them. Neil Perry changed from an optimistic realist to a true romantic. At first h e wanted to take the world by storm, but was struck down by his sternly realist father. After classes and meetings with Mr. Keating he became audacious. First by making Todds desk set fly, writing a third person letter to his father about his acting in a play, and then convincing his father to allow him to act in the play. How to Answer Situational Interview Questions In a job interview, you’re thoroughly prepared for the standard questions about your skills and your work history. You’ve got anecdotes that show off your leadership skills or your communication skills. Smooth sailing, right? Sure, until you get a question that’s a little off the map: â€Å"Here’s the situation. You have an angry client on the phone, an urgent email demanding your attention, and the fire alarm is going off. How do you handle this?† The answer to that question isn’t in your resume (at least not obviously so). It’s not one of the stories you rehearsed in your bathroom mirror this morning. So what does this kind of question achieve, and how do you tackle it?Situational interview questions are popular with interviewers because they unearth two immediate things about the interviewee:How quickly he or she thinks on their feet.How he or she approaches problem solving.These are interview skills that you can’t necessaril y drill ahead of time, without knowing the specifics of what the interviewer is going to ask. But we will walk through ways to recognize situational questions right away, and how to approach these questions on the spot.Situational vs. BehavioralSituational interview questions are slightly different from that other popular interview question type, the behavioral interview question. Really, it’s a test of your critical thinking skills, and showing the interviewer that you can hear a situation that you may or may not have ever faced before, think fast, and come up with a satisfying solution. It also gives insight into your thought processes.How to Answer Situational Interview QuestionsThe first strategy for answering questions like these is to remember that it’s not a trick question. It’s not a gotcha. The interviewer didn’t wake up this morning and think, â€Å"I’m gonna mess with that dude’s interview just to throw him off his game.† It’s not a personal question, it’s a professional one- so before you answer, it’s important to take a deep breath and think logically.More often than not, the answer is going to be the one that lines up most with common sense. Oh, right, how I’d organize a project. Organization is so important†¦umm†¦sorry, lost my train of thought.† Staying focused is key. You want to get in, answer the question, and get out. There are no bonus points for a novella-length answer.Don’t give a generic answer. You want to give specifics whenever possible. Maybe that’s saying, â€Å"I actually faced something similar, and I did X. Given the chance again, this is what I’d do differently.† Maybe it’s saying, â€Å"I know Job Corp values efficiency, so here’s how I’d improve that process.† Either way, you want the interviewer to know that you’re not answering questions in the void, you’re being thoughtful and describing how you would react in this particular job.Common Situational QuestionsNow that we’ve gone through some of the theory behind situational interview questions, let’s look at some common ones that you can use to frame your interview prep.Q: Say you’re leading a team on a project that has a very strict deadline. It’s looking like you may miss that deadline. How do you handle that?A: In a case like this, where the deadline might not be negotiable, I’d make sure there was a Plan B option in place, and make sure that communication is strong throughout the group to make sure everyone knows what that Plan B is if things don’t go according to plan. This is similar to a situation I faced in my current job, where a server failure meant that we wouldn’t be able to finalize a process on time. We ended up having to use a manual workaround to get the data in, and it took some epic overtime, but in the end we just made it. When a deadline is in jeopardy, you do what you need to do. Q: You and your boss don’t get along, and you find that your everyday tasks are not getting done because of this ongoing conflict. How would you handle that?A: In my experience, resolving conflicts before they blow up is one of the most important professional skills to have. I know how important it is to work with people of all different kinds of perspectives, so I’d try talking to my boss about our priorities, and about the best way to achieve them. I’d make sure to stay very neutral and professional, and try to open up a dialogue.Q: You get an email from an angry client complaining about service. What would you do to de fuse the situation?A: First, I’d make sure I understand why the client is upset, and what the root cause of the problem is. A person can have all the talents in the world but that can only get you so far. If you do not have the drive, determination, and dedication to succeed in whatever you do you will not succeed or conquer it as you would if you had put in the hard work to get better. Talent is overrated and overreacted. It is something that you are born with not something you have actually worked toward. The quote by Stephen King explains a lot it tells us that not only is talent cheap or something that is not worked for but it tells us that it is given and also it tells us what separates a talented individual from success is hard work which is something not given at all. Hard work is something you have to want for yourself and you have to go after it with everything you have to succeed. Also in the book â€Å"Outliers† it is said that working hard and practicing will get you further than sheer talent and that if you practice 10,000 hours you will be excellent at your sport or activity. The main thing that I took from this was work ethic, because in order for you to be excellent at something or the best you have to have a great work ethic which brings success. Take Tiger Woods for instance. He was a born winner right? Ever since Tiger was three years of age he had a golf club in his hands. He had competed many times and made a great impact at the professional level. But Tiger may have never got to the professional level if he had not worked. Ever since being a child to an adult he had worked toward his profession critiquing his skill making himself the athlete he is today. At a young age also Tigers father had instilled Tiger with a great deal of discipline which Tiger had carried with him as he worked toward his profession and devoted hours and hours into hard work in dedication. Through his use of discipline and hard work he had to remake his swing twice but he knew in order to be the best he would have to do so. A person that works hard is respected and looked up to because of the time he or she devotes to be the best. A person  that takes talent for granted and does not work hard is looked down upon. Talent is something that people are born with but if you do not take the opportunity to get better then you will not be the best. Opportunity is such a big word because it gives you the chance to succeed or be the best when we talk about hard work increasing your talent. Michael Jordan which is one of the best basketball players to ever live, but he may have never been the best player to ever live if it was not for opportunity and hard work. Michael Jordan was placed on the junior-varsity team at Laney High school in Wilmington N.C from the misrepresentation of his former coach Clifton â€Å"pop† Herring. Coach Herring had made this decision because most of the upperclassmen were guaranteed there starting positions on the varsity squad. At the time underclassmen hardly had played but Coach herring had made an exception for Michael`s fellow teammate Leroy Smith who had stood 6`7 and had made the varsity team. Even though Michael did not make the Varsity team he continued to ball out on his Junior Varsity team and make the best of it. However Over the summer he grew four inches taller and had worked hard t oward his goal to make his high school basketball team. His junior year, Michael had an opportunity to make the team and not to give up on his goal and that’s exactly what he did. Because of Jordan`s opportunity to strive for his goal to be the best, he had gone on to be known as one of the best players to ever step upon the court. I understand that people may say. â€Å"Well if the talent is there, why should I work?† And that in some sports it is kind of about talent more than work, but what I am arguing is that hard work and dedication will get you further than natural talent does. The outcome of a talented individual succeeding more than the hardworking individual in not as great as a hardworking individual succeeding over a natural born talented athlete or talented individual of any kind. In life you have to work hard to be at the top. Many people who sit back and rely on their natural abilities tend to pay the price because they never had that drive, determination, and work ethic. Many athletes are gifted in many ways and have lots of talent but they tend to lose sight of what is important and that is the hard work that you put in. Many of us are faced with many struggles in our lives but in order to overcome our struggles we have to be prepared to work hard and go after what we want. Things in life are not going to be given to you and people that use their natural ability and never  work hard tend to experience many struggles because they have no preparation to conquer the task at hand. Take Bill Gates for instance a money making machine who started out as just an intelligent, ambitious, and determined kid that had been known as the smartest kid on campus. Bill Gates talent was his broad spectrum of knowledge. As a kid he was enrolled in a private school for his outstanding efforts in the classroom. Bill then was introduced to computers and began to take a huge interest in technology. Since then Bill had lived on computers, working on them and spending many strenuous hours critiquing his skill. He then was put in a programmer`s group, they found a new way to apply their computer skill at the University of Washington. In the next year, they got their first opportunity in Information Sciences Inc, in which they were selected as programmers. They were allowed free computer time for exchange to work on a piece of software that could be used to automate company payrolls. Bill had spent twenty to thirty hours a week on computers or more. This opportunity got Bill prepared and made him even more focused on his goal in life. Bill had a talent but it all goes back to his work ethic. He constantly worked hard and put up lots of hours in order to now be one of the richest men in America and he still is working and striving for even more money. We can all be like Michael Jordan or Bill Gates but we have to recognize the opportunities which are given and take full advantage of each and every opportunity and use each opportunity to strive for better. Believing that hard work will get you further then natural talent. Remembering that by working hard and putting forth one hundred percent in whatever you do you will be prepared and ready for what’s in your way ahead. By preparing yourself you will not have to pay the price of failing because of going off of natural born talent all along. Remember no one looks up to a person that doesn’t work for what God has given them, people look up to ones that strive to be the best by putting in the blood, sweat, and tears to succeed at their goals. My Own Health History   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Today I would say that I am physically healthy, but I could be more emotionally healthy. The reason I feel this way is because I am currently training for the Berea College track and field team. To do this I have to run times that are not easily attained. This is what causes me to be physically healthy. This is just one of many factors that I believe have influenced my physical health. Others include swimming, basketball, walking, cross-country, my own personal view of my self, and the way others view me. All of these factors have played a positive influence on my training habits and abilities.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Basketball has been a very large part of my life. It was the first sport I ever learned to play. When I was younger I would watch my older brothers and my uncles go the park and play. It was something I enjoyed doing. That has a lot to do with your health. If you can find something you love to do and can give you a workout then you can be considered healthy. Playing basketball made me better physically and mentally. As I grew older I started to play more, which put me in better shape. Finally by my freshman year I was playing for my high school. I learned the great skills as well as teamwork. This is an example of how sports develop a person mentally and physically. While playing basketball probably was the most enjoyable it did not put me in the best shape.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  I have tried just about every sport in my life, but the two that I have been most successful at are swimming, and running. Running is the one I have decided to do in college, but I also love swimming. I started swimming when I was about two years old, but I did not start competitively swimming until the summer before my junior year. I trained daily when I joined my summer swim team after my best friend told me it would be good for the upcoming cross country season. After swimming I realized that it is a great way to learn controlled breathing, and to increase your VO2 max. It is also a great workout for your legs and arms. And the competition from swimming teaches sportsmanship, and punctuality. Swimming to me was a major part of my health and physical fitness my junior and senior year, but the biggest part was running cross-country and track and field.

HP Case Study Essay

The company Hewlett Packard (HP) was founded in 1938 by William Hewlett and David Packard, two electrical engineers from the Stanford University. They initially started it in a garage behind Packard’s home in the state of California, manufacturing only electronic instruments at that time. Their first product was a resistance-capacity audio oscillator, an instrument used to test the sound equipment. The biggest customer of that product was Walt Disney Company. In 1940, HP was formed, with the establishment of Hewlett and Packard’s own factory in Palo Alto. By the end of this year, HP’s revenue exceeded $2 million and the company employed 166 employees. During 1950’s HP gained popularity as a producer of innovative measuring and testing equipment of premium quality. HP first acquired the F. L. Moseley Company in 1957, which was the producer of quality graphic recorders. After this, HP started to globalize its Business. In 1959, it opened the first Marketing office in Switzerland and a manufacturing plant in Germany. Realizing the need to sustain the synergy in the organization Hewlett and Packard formulated the values and objectives of the organization, these values and objectives formed the basis of the management style at the company, referred as ‘The HP Way’ nowadays. (Moganty, n. d. ) Thus HP transformed into a democratic organization where every employee has the autonomy to talk to his immediate boss and other employees having different hierarchical positions. The company continued to diversify its business and entered the Asian market in 1963 forming a joint venture with a Japanese firm. In 1968, HP invented the HP 9100 desktop scientific calculator, after that many innovative computing products in the 1970s, hence, till 1980s HP’s business portfolio was filled with a wide array of products and to strengthen its position HP acquired Apollo Computers, which was then the leading manufacturer of workstations. By 1990s HP had 92,000 employees and earned revenues of approximately $13. billion. External Environment With the recession in PC industry of the United States in 1990, HP started to lag behind, and significantly loss a share in innovative products, it was not able to cope with the changing conductions in the industry due to its old fashioned organizational culture. Employees started becoming dissatisfied with the way the company was managed. According to a poll conducted among HP employees, HP lacked in clear directions and was said to have become too product oriented. In order to deal with this situation, HP decided to focus on its computer business and spun off its measuring, testing and medical equipment division into a new company. This was done in early 1999 and a new company named Agilent Technologies Inc. was founded, which only dealt with the devices other than those related to computing. As a consequence, HP was left with only four main divisions; Personal computers, inkjet printers, laser printers and servers. Despite the measures, taken by the company to reduce costs and drafting a new internet strategy, it was believed that what HP actually needs is a change in leadership. So a CEO named Carly Fiorina was hired. Soon after becoming the CEO, she started a mass marketing program for HP, new advertisements were made in which the employees of HP were referred as ‘A fearless collection of inventors,’ many of those advertisements had Fiornia herself. But all of this went in vain, and on the top of it the merger between HP and Compaq Computers Corp. made the conditions even worst for HP. As a consequence, the company’s culture change and new rules were set which were in the favor of the company according to Fiornia. But the laying off of approximately 17,000 HP employees was beyond the level of understanding of all the people. Minimum Wage: My Case to Raise It

IntroductionIn my opinion, minimum wage should be raised.   It is time for the United States to stand up for the original purpose of the Fair Labor Standards Act.   The low wage is hurting the economy as a whole because it is squeezing the lower income level so tightly that they have to make choices between paying rent or buying food.   The three main reasons for this increase are as follows.   First, an increase in minimum wage would directly impact those at the bottom of the economic ladder.   Second, by increasing minimum wage, you also increase the value of work.   Third, because the cost of living has increased so much, the cost of work must follow its lead.   Due to these reasons, minimum wage must be raised.HistoryIn 1938, the Fair Labor Standards Act was passed.   This was a reaction the hard work of women like Jane Adams and Eleanor Roosevelt who were trying to end child labor and increase the standard of living in the poorest communities. The labor unions we re advocating for it as early as the late 1800’s when women in the Lowell factories claimed they deserved equal pay and treatment.   Its passage was also influenced by industrial disasters like the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in 1911, which killed many of the young workers in New York.   The Jungle written by Upton Sinclair about the struggles of the working class in Chicago, influenced politicians and communities and caused them to start looking at its workers in a different light and with increased understanding.It set the maximum work week, standards of child labor and overtime pay.   It also created minimum wage.   This is the idea that there is a minimum standard of pay that everyone should be given.   It was set at twenty five cents an hour.   The act succeeded in many ways but it failed in keeping pace with inflation.   Originally, this was written into the act.   Now, raising minimum wage to keep pace with inflation has become a political issue. U sually democrats are in favor of raising the wage and republicans are against it.   Because the federal government has failed to protect its people by raising the wage, many states and cities have taken it upon themselves to raise their own wages.Argument againstThe conservative argument against raising the wage is primarily economic.   They say  this action hurts the whole economy and doesn’t help the lower classes at all. (Chapman)   Their argument is that if employers have to pay more, they will limit the employees they have or even take their work overseas, which is a valid threat.   They claim that in reality, the people who benefit are in higher economic classes because they learn to manage their businesses more efficiently and the boom lines their pocketbooks.My ArgumentAs my thesis demonstrates I disagree with the conservative stance.   I feel that an  increase in the minimum wage would help the people intended.   It would add value to what they do and keep up with the cost of living, as it was originally designed to do.The lower income families in the U.S. are hurting. â€Å"Today more than 28 million people, about a quarter of the workforce between the ages of 18 and 64, earn less than $9.04 an hour, which translates into a full-time salary of $18,800 a year—the income that marks the federal poverty line for a family of four.† (Working and Poor)   It is extremely difficult, if not impossible to raise a family on that amount of money.   The argument has been made that you can make more money on welfare than working for minimum wage.   What kind of lesson does that teach?So, is the answer raising minimum wage.   According to Jeff Chapman in his brief for the Economic Policy Institute, it is.   â€Å"If the federal wage were raised to $7.00, the bottom 40% or households would receive nearly 60% of the benefits.† (Chapman)   He goes on to say, â€Å"Raising the minimum wage provides income support to families in need.   While it is important to understand that the minimum wage should not be judged solely on its efficiency at targeting low-income families, research shows that it does just that.†(Chapman)Business Weekly agrees with these finding. â€Å"Lifting the minimum wage by $1.50 an hour, would boost the incomes of 10 million workers.† (Working and Poor) My research indicates that raising the minimum wage would be an effective way to target lower income workers and increase their income.   This would help offset the cost of inflation, as I will prove is a necessity.Originally, the wage was designed to increase as the cost of living increased.   This system makes sense.   If things cost more, people need to make more money to afford them—not luxuries, necessities.   If this adjustment is not made, the consequences affect the family, not just the worker. â€Å"Some experts on homelessness say the numbers are growing because of the widening gap between low pay and high rents.† (Kaufman) â€Å"Real pay for the bottom 10 percent of wage earners rose less that one percent in adjusted dollars from 1979 to 2003, according to the Economic Policy Institute. (Kaufman)If the wage doesn’t keep up, how can people afford rent?   If I make just enough to cover my bills, and my rent increases but my salary doesn’t, I have no choice.   I would have to get another job, which may not be a possibility, try to work overtime, which my job might not allow, or move.   What if I live in the cheapest apartment available?   This is the cycle that must be stopped. It leads to hopelessness, debt and in some circumstances, homelessness.â€Å"Even if the minimum wage were not well-targeted at helping those in need, it serves an important role in the U.S. economy and society.   It is a fundamental statment of principle about the value of work, opportunity and the responsibilities of employers.† (Chapman) Increasin g minimum wage validates the worker.   As the girls in Lowell were looking for acknowledgement of the value of their work, so do the workers of today search for validation for what they do.When the government raises the wage, they are sending a clear message that they value the workers and understand their position.   The C.E.O. of Costco is quoted as saying, â€Å"We no longer have a motivated working class.† (Working and Poor)   This is a huge problem.   If you can’t take pride in your work, what’s the point of working at all, especially if you can take advantage of the welfare system? If no one values what you do, why try to do any better than the bare minimum?Raising the minimum wage demonstrates employer accountability.   The government is making them responsible for the people their success rests upon.   â€Å"No employer should be allowed to unreasonably profit by exploiting the lack of negotiating power of low-wage workers.† (Chapman)à ‚   Labor simply has no power anymore.   The unions have been broken and they have no voice.   Someone has to hold the employers accountable.   Someone must step forward for the workers.An increase in the wage would do just that.   As I have shown, it does have a direct affect on those in the deepest need. â€Å"Everyone should have the opportunity to earn a decent wage.   No American should be compelled to work at a rate that amounts to the federal poverty level.   This is equally true for a middle-class youth working to raise money for college as it is for a single mother supporting a family.† (Chapman)ConclusionMinimum wage is one small part of the Fair Labor Standards Act that was designed to protect the worker.   Society saw its people falling through the cracks and they stood up for those people, claiming that everyone who works hard deserves a chance to succeed.   Minimum wage is the foundation of that success.   I have shown three strong reasons for the need to increase minimum wage.   The first is that raising the wage directly affects those in the greatest need.They do benefit from a raise as it corresponds to the raise in the cost of living. My second reason demonstrated this.   As the cost of living increases so should the minimum wage.   This way, workers can easily adjust their earnings to cover new expenses and not have to make hard decisions that could greatly impact their families.   The third reason is philosophical.Adding value to the worker validates the job that is being done.   When employers are held to greater accountability, the working class feels they are appreciated.   This is so important for our society.   Welfare shouldn’t have to be an option for a family willing to work and take part in the economy.   Without a raise in the minimum wage, this might be a serious threat.   â€Å"Equality means dignity.   And dignity demands a job and a paycheck that lasts through the week.† (Weisman)   I feel this quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. conclude my thoughts on this subject.

The Class of 2022 had the highest average SAT composite score yet: 1440. That means you’ll need to score at (or very near) 1440 to be considered competitive with your fellow applicants. NYU doesn’t state which SAT scores they accept on their website (all, highest, etc), so you’ll need to contact the admissions office to learn which of your scores factor in. What ACT Scores Do I Need to Get Into NYU? NYU’s average ACT score is also rising. The average ACT score of admitted applicants to NYU is 30. Even though NYU likely says they have no minimum ACT requirement, if you apply with a 28 or below, you'll have a hard time getting in, unless you have something else very impressive in your application. There are so many applicants scoring 30 and above that a 28 will look academically weak. Atrial Fibrillation - Essay Example AF may occur in men or women and is generally seen in the elderly population in the age group of 60 -70 years or above. As Kowey and Naccarelli points out â€Å"from an epidemiological standpoint AF is predominantly a disease of elderly individuals with cardiovascular diseases† (Kowey and Naccarelli, p.1). AF generally is not seen in the young population. The human heart consists of four chambers – the upper two chambers are known as atria while the two lower ones are known as ventricles. De-oxygenated blood containing high amounts of carbon dioxide enters the right atrium via the superior vena cava and inferior vena cava and flows into the right ventricle. The right atrium contracts to pump the rest of the blood into the right ventricle which in turn contracts to pump the blood into the lungs where the blood loses its carbon dioxide and gets fresh oxygen supply. This oxygenated blood then enters the left atrium which contracts to pump the blood into left ventricle. The left ventricle contracts to send the blood to the rest of the body. These contractions of the heart muscles occur due to an inbuilt electric supply system present in the human heart that sends out electrical signals during each heart beat. Each electrical signal starts its journey from the sino-atrial (SA) node present in the right atrium of the heart. From her e as it moves down it causes both the atria to contract thus pumping blood to the ventricles. The electrical signal then moves down to the atrio-ventricular node and via the bundle of His enter both the ventricles causing them to contract and pump blood to the lungs and the rest of the body. In atrial fibrillation this electrical signal arises from the nearby pulmonary veins and other parts of the right atrium instead of the SA node. These electrical signals produced are extremely irregular and generally very rapid and can range up to 350 signals per
